The band
Who We Really are
Piia Kyllönen
Chief Executive Voice Officer
Piia was born in Helsinki but grew up under Aurora Borealis in northern Finland. There, in the wilderness, she screamed so loud that blues-playing geezers down south heard her. Piia came back to Helsinki and yelled even more. The geezers got deaf, but they must admit that the lady sang like an angel. Piia has written some great tunes, like “Dream” and “Shimmering Light.”
Jani Liuhanen
President of Piano & Organ Division
Jani wasn’t very old when he formed the band ”Damn Seagulls” with his schoolmates. Seagulls was a great success, and Jani got truckloads of Markkas (Finland’s currency before the EU). Jani invested all his income in the mushroom business and lost everything. Luckily, if he had retired to St. Tropez, we wouldn’t have masterpieces like “Fadeaway,” “Dance with Me,” and “Bad Blues.”.
Jippo Korhonen
Guitar Director, Chief Tuning Supervisor
His first tattoo was supposed to read:” This Pirate Life Is Killing Me.” He was an eight-year-old deckhand then. Stubborn Jippo got his tattoo without text, even though he claimed to be an adult. In his early teens, Jippo played punk rock with a group called ”Nollaseiska.” The name derives from the size of a vodka bottle. We have seen some footage. He was on television, punishing his poor guitar like Attila the Hun. He also hooked up with legendary British punk rock legend singer-songwriter T.V.Smith. Jippo is busy writing songs for us. But he is a perfectionist, so we must wait patiently.
Keijo Saviluoto
Senior Director of Bass and Low Register Operations
Keijo used to play guitar in numerous Afro bands. He was wearing a caftan and flip-flops. We don’t know everything about our mysterious bass player. Why did he change guitar to bass? And why did he write a song called ”King Is Gone?” Maybe he was a Pharaoh in ancient Egypt? Who knows?
Muffe Halla-aho
Chairman of The Groove Analytics
When living in a small rural town on the eastern coast of Finland, Muffe joined an all-male dance group. He danced the night away, and in the early morning, he heard the calling: go to Helsinki, join Subliminal Mode. Before that, he tried to be a poet, sculptor, carpenter, and pizza cook. Muffe has written “Bees Don’t Buzz Anymore” and “The Screaming Man” for us.
